Membership is open to all foster carers registered with Leeds City Council, whether they be mainstream, or kinship they automatically become members upon being approved as a carer.
We hold several events throughout the year, including monthly foster carer drop-in sessions for information and advice, the quarterly All Carers meeting with regular guest speakers, special one off training sessions aswell as annual family events.
We an independent charitable organisation that relies upon the voluntary contributions from our members, grants and donations from our working partnerships and local businesses.
Our association is run by a small group of dedicated unpaid volunteers, who are foster carers themselves, that help to organise training events, support groups, family activities and all important 24 hour support telephone helpline.
We believe that good relationships are built on upon fairness, constructive engagement and respect for all. Whether they be with the carers we support, the children and young people they look after or other professional bodies and local government services.
This ethos forms a central part of our constitution and is an active role in the way we work.
